IIT Madras fundraising soars to INR 131 Crore from alumni and corporates in 2021-22. Also, JEE Main session 1 exam is scheduled from June 20 to 29. Additionally, JEE Advanced 2022 application form will be released on August 7. A total of 240 BTech and 294 MTech students were placed during 2022 placements. The highest package offered to BTech students was INR 1.89 Cr, whereas, for the MTech programme, it was INR 46.08 LPA. Out of 14 MA students who registered for IIT Madras placements 2022, five were placed. The highest and average packages offered to MA students were INR 22 LPA and INR 13.98 LPA, respectively.

IIT Madras UG Admission 2022
At the undergraduate level, the IIT Chennai offers BTech, BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) and BS-MS (Dual Degree) covering several specialisations. IIT Madras’ BTech admission is completely entrance-based and depends on candidates’ performance in JEE Advanced entrance exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
IIT Madras PG Admission 2022
IIT Madras offers Integrated MA, MTech, MBA and MSc courses at the postgraduate level. Admission to all these courses is based on candidates’ performance in several national-level entrance exams.
IIT Madras PhD, MS by Research Admission 2022
At the research level, Indian Institute of Technology Madras offers a PhD and MS by Research programme in full-time mode across multiple streams, including Engineering, Science, Humanities & Social Sciences, Management and Entrepreneurship. IIT Delhi is currently accepting applications for both PhD and MS by Research courses, interested candidates need to apply before April 30. Admission to these programmes is based on the academic merit of the candidates. For PhD programmes, a valid score in UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ JRF is required while for MS by Research a valid GATE score is mandatory. For final selection, IIT Madras PhD shortlisted candidates are called for a written test, followed by a PI round.

IIT Madras Hostel
- IIT Madras has a total of 19 hostels, 4 of which are for girls and 15 for boys. The IIT Madras hostel is known as India’s most luxurious hostel. The hostel provides free WiFi 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The food at the hostel is excellent, and the menu is extensive. The rooms are available in both double and single occupancy. The hostel’s discipline is excellent. The wardens at the hostel are extremely professional. There are also sports facilities. Holi, Pongal, Onam, Diwali, and New Year’s Eve are also celebrated at the hostel.
- In the first year, people are provided sharing room and each room consists of two people one person from north India and the other from South India. The room is really very small, the bare minimum size to hold 2 people and comes with very basic facilities like two tables, 2 chairs, and 2 almirahs and only fan no air conditioning or any other stuff. It gets pretty hot during summers. The mess here is the worst in terms of taste but the quality-wise food served is good. People are provided to choose from North Indian mess or South Indian mess. Hostel and mess registration takes place through an online portal in which we pay our fees also.

They are very knowledgeable, highly qualified with PhD degrees from international universities or elite Indian universities. The college has a student-faculty ratio of 16:1. Each student also gets assistant teachers who are M.Tech or PhD students to help them with their academics doubts. The teaching methodology is quite good. The course curriculum gets revised from time to time to maintain its relevance with the industry. Electrical engineering is the second most demanded department in the engineering industry. Institute makes students ready for industries by conducting lab sessions for the courses, by involving students in professors projects and internships.
